U.S. Forest Service Features AAMU Alum and Research Forester
Dr. Iris Baker Montague is the featured research scientist in the U.S. Forest Service, Northern Research Station’s October newsletter. The veteran research forester earned her bachelor’s degree and an MBA at AAMU, before getting her doctorate at the University of Georgia.
Montague is from Huntsville, Ala., and learned about AAMU’s Forestry Program in middle school, when her mother enrolled her in a STEM-related program on campus. She went on to earn a USDA 1890’s Scholarship.
