On March 12, 2020, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced the decision to cancel the remainder of the Spring 2020 sports season. The SIAC and its Council of Presidents continue to monitor national, regional, as well as municipal health and safety guidance in connection with an ongoing process assessing the feasibility of intercollegiate athletic contests. However, contrary to published reports, no formal or final decisions have been made with respect to the status of Fall 2020 sports. As a responsible intercollegiate sport sponsoring institution, the SIAC will continue to evaluate the feasibility of close-contact athletic competition amid the national COVID-19 pandemic.
