Miles College Announces New Academic Programs for Fall 2020-2021 School Year
 
FAIRFIELD, ALABAMA – Miles College has received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to offer the College’s first online Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
 
These adjustments align with the College’s plan to provide an academic portfolio that meets workforce demands and provides a competitive quality educational experience to all students who enroll at Miles College.  
 
“We are excited to offer new academic programs and innovative delivery methods in answer to regional and national market needs and the desires of our current and future students,” says Bobbie Knight, President of Miles College. “Further, quality course delivery both on-campus and online affords us new opportunities to ensure we meet the needs of traditional and non-traditional students alike,” says Knight.
 
The College’s online bachelor’s degree in Business Administration is geared toward working professionals and can be completed online. The program is poised to become an essential link for professionals to enhance their skillsets in a unique learning environment by offering a flexible online curriculum.   
 
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology will provide practical, hands-on training to students who will have the opportunity to apply theory to practice and prepare them for mental health professions.
 
“One of President Knight’s first actions was to lead us toward diversifying programming. She challenged us to make it more relevant to our students, the needs of the community, and the future. This undergraduate psychology program will focus on public health, the unique needs of the African-American community, and reducing the stigma about mental health. The organization of this program and its multiple tracks will prepare students for graduate programs,” said Jarralynne Agee, PsyD, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs.
