For the third year, OWN’s “OWN for the Holidays” lineup is sliding down the chimney and onto our screens. 2021’s slate includes three original holiday movies and a holiday-themed cooking competition show hosted by Kym Whitley.

Premiering on November 16, the The Big Holiday Food Fight will unspool over five Tuesdays. Featuring home cooks competing to make the best holiday feast, the series makes an excellent companion piece to The Great British Baking Show: Holidays, if you ask us—kind of like caramel and chocolate holiday desserts.

As for the movies? All three are designed to give audiences a small dose of the holiday spirit. According to a statement, each original movie “celebrates and honors the deeper meaning of the season—giving to others and putting friends and family first.” In addition to OWN, the movies will be available to stream on Discovery+.

A Chestnut Family Christmas

When is it? Tuesday, November 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

What’s it about? This holiday season, think about giving gift of acceptance. In A Chestnut Family Christmas, a pastry chef and live-in cook (Meagan Holder) accidentally invites her family over for the holidays. But instead of showing them how she lives, she pretends her boss’s house is her own. Nina and her family are forced to confront why she felt the need to lie in the first place.

A Sisterly Christmas

When is it? Tuesday, December 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

What’s it about? The two sisters featured in A Sisterly Christmas (played by Deborah Joy Winans and Lisa Michelle Cornelius) celebrate the holidays differently—in that one celebrates them, and one doesn’t at all. Then, one year, they receive a joint gift in the form of a luxury holiday vacation. The fun abruptly stops when they run into a childhood rival, and the tension is as fresh as it was decades ago.
