Janet Sherrod, a native of Pickens County, Alabama holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from Hampton University, Educational Specialist in Education Administration from the University of Montevallo, a Master of Education in Mathematics Education from the University of West Alabama and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics Education from Tuskegee University.
Dr. Sherrod is the Tuscaloosa City Schools as Executive Director of Learning Supports. Previously, she was TCS Director of Student Services and Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School principal where under her leadership, the school was removed from the failing list. She has also worked in Hale County, Midfield City and Tuscaloosa County.
She is an active member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, in Tuscaloosa and is married to Ricky Sherrod. Dr. Sherrod loves serving others, reading, traveling, crafting, scrapbooking and shopping and is an active member of Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
She is the Owner of Embellished Boutique and Bling Studio located in Tuscaloosa,Alabama that specializes in bling and sparkles, Embellished is also a licensed Delta Sigma Theta vendor, where you can find crimson and cream.
