Joy McCovey is a humble servant of God who has dedicated her life to being the hands, feet, and mouthpiece of Jesus Christ with love and compassion. Her heart’s desire is to see individuals living in freedom, wholeness, peace, and joy while living out their full potential in Christ Jesus. She knows too well the struggles of living a life crippled by issues of the heart (sin and weights), such as rape, relationship abuse, promiscuity, bisexuality, abortion, suicide, low self-esteem, depression, pride, and unforgiveness, just to name a few, which allowed stones and walls to callous her heart and lead her into a life of pleasing the enemy instead of her Creator, God. Along her journey, she has encountered many individuals that were trapped in the same unfulfilling and unholy lifestyle, striving to live while the enemy slowly stole, killed, and destroyed the very essence of who they were and Whose they were.
It was not until Joy totally accepted Jesus Christ into her life that she began to understand her purpose and discovered her gifts in teaching and ministry. Since then, Joy has strived to do the work the Lord has created and commissioned her to do. Today, Joy McCovery is an anointed ordained minister, author, conference leader/speaker, teacher, certified Master Coach (specializing in grief, trauma, pain and transition) and certified public speaker. Her ministry style is hard-hitting, humorous, healing, edifying, and encouraging.
Joy resides in Montgomery, Alabama with her loving husband, Tavares, and awesome granddaughter, Grace. She is the proud mother of Tia, who also resides in Montgomery, and Tabria (deceased) whom she always gives honor to as well.
