WHAT MADE YOU ATTEND YOUR HBCU?
I chose to attend Southwestern Christian College due to its affiliation with the Church of Christ, its mission of preparing future leaders for both local communities and the broader world, and because it was my mother’s non-negotiable choice for my college education.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN DURING YOUR TIME A YOUR COLLEGE?
Throughout my college years, I acquired a wealth of essential life lessons. These included recognizing the significance of fostering a sense of community, cultivating meaningful relationships, mastering the art of setting priorities, effectively communicating responsibilities, skillfully negotiating deadlines, crafting efficient schedules, and successfully managing my workload.
WHAT DID YOU TAKE WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEFT THE COLLEGE?
After leaving college, I took with me a profound understanding of the importance of community, the ability to build meaningful relationships, strong skills in setting priorities and managing responsibilities, effective communication, negotiation, and time management techniques, as well as the capability to efficiently handle workloads. These valuable life lessons have continued to serve me well in various aspects of my life beyond my college years.
WHAT IS YOUR INSPIRATION?
My wife, children, and family serve as my constant inspiration. They instill in me an unwavering sense of gratitude and the motivation to persist in the face of any challenges life may present. Their presence fuels my commitment to always give my utmost effort in all the endeavors I undertake.
WHAT DO YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING 10 YEARS FROM NOW?
Looking ahead ten years, I genuinely hope that life continues to shower me with ever-greater success, boundless happiness, and, most importantly, more precious moments of life. My aspiration remains that, as the years unfold, my life story will continue to be a source of support and inspiration for those grappling with mental health challenges.
WHEN YOU LEAVE THIS WORLD WHAT YOU DO WANT PEOPLE TO REMEMBER YOU FOR?
When my time in this world is done, I want to be remembered for the God-given talents I’ve shared, my unwavering commitment to a life of service that has reached far and wide. As a resilient survivor of the darkest moments, I hope to leave behind a legacy of compelling stories and testimonies. I’ve dedicated myself to being a beacon of hope, particularly for men, with the aim to empower and uplift. I’ve striven to shine a light on the critical importance of mental health, the benefits of therapy, the practice of self-care, and the profound value of self-awareness. My lasting legacy is one of inspiration, motivating others to persevere through any challenges they encounter.
