Albany State University taught me valuable life lessons such as perseverance and never give up in the face of adversity. Additionally, I learned patience and effective communication skills, became resilient, increased my confidence and integrity, and understood the value of friendships and networking.

My HBCU experience profoundly shaped my life by instilling a strong sense of identity and purpose. It helped cultivate lasting connections with my peers and a network of mentors who have played pivotal roles in my career progression.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO PRACTICE LAW?
Experiencing racial discrimination in elementary school fueled my desire to practice law. At an early age, I developed a strong passion for justice and an interest in making a positive impact on society. Practicing law provided me with the knowledge and skills to advocate for fairness and equality.
WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE OTHER YOUNG ATTORNEYS OR POTENTIAL JUDGE?
I would give the following advice to young lawyers: embrace challenges, stay true to your values, and actively seek mentorships. Additionally, recognize the importance of community engagement and understand the power of your voice in advocating for justice.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU WITH IN 5 YEARS?
Over the next five years, I plan to continue to make a positive impact in the legal field and explore leadership opportunities that will increase my influence in the community.
