The Alabama Collective brings hands-on app development training sessions at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) campuses. Thanks to a $30,000 CSX grant, Drake State Community & Technical College will become the next HBCU to host one of the Appy Hour training sessions this week.
“Partnering with CSX is a great opportunity for our students,” said Drake State Dean of Instruction Dr. Carolyn Henderson. “This opportunity will expose students, including dual enrollment students to software application development and high-wage and high-demand technology career fields particularly in Huntsville.”
The $30,000 grant from CSX is funding “Appy Hours” to expose students to software application development. The Alabama Collective partner, Ed Farm, will provide immersive STEM training to students in the classroom.
