WHAT MADE YOU ATTEND YOUR HBCU?
My sister attended Xavier University, and I knew that I wanted to attend an HBCU because of her as well as the influence of A Different World. Clark Atlanta literally felt like I was on Hillman’s Campus.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN DURING YOUR TIME A YOUR COLLEGE?
Our motto at Clark Atlanta is I’ll find a way or make one. This has shaped my life tremendously as it guides me when I am faced with obstacles.
WHAT WAS YOUR DECISION TO PLEDGE DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY INC?
I chose to pledge Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated because our founders were change makers. They were problem solvers & activists, I saw myself in their mission. I seek to solve problems with fortitude, against all odds.
HOW DID YOUR HBCU EFFECT YOUR LIFE?
Clark Atlanta University is one exceptional institution. I experienced black excellence. After all, it was at Atlanta University where W.E.B DuBois wrote “The Talented Tenth.” I learned that I had a responsibility to my ancestors to succeed & to lift others as I climbed,
SHARE 3 OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL THING YOU HAVE DONE SINCE LEAVING COLLEGE?
I landed a reality show on Bravo’s Love Match Atlanta. Rick Ross offered me $1 million to match him. I launched a luxury matching firm, Upper Echelon Matchmaking, where I have matched 500 couples and counting.
WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE A YOUNG DELTA SIGMA THETA?
Remember like the elephant; move like the duck; bloom like the African violet, and like our founders, be of service to others as you change the world.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU WITH IN 5 YEARS?
I plan to continue expanding my business & matching more people.
